TOUR DESCRIPTION
This tour is special because it is thought as a journey through time over more than 2000 years, taking as a reference the most emblematic buildings where historical key events took place.
What makes a place unique is not only its buildings or landmarks but also the warmth of local people, the gastronomy, the festivals, lifestyle and so much more. I will guide you so that you can discover the legacy left by the Romans, Moors and Christians. I will tell you the legends of relevant characters who lived in Valencia, such as the Borgia family, The Lord (warlord "El Cid") or King James I of Aragon (The Conqueror).
We will start at the Serranos Towers, an old gate from medieval times. We will continue to the wonderful old Turia riverbed, now converted into a lush green area. From there we will stop by the Palace of the Borgia family, one of the most powerful families in the Middle Ages. Then, we will head to Virgin Square, Queen Square , and Round Square to admire the Cathedral, the Basilica and St Catherina´s and Saint Michael´s bell towers.
From there we will visit the palace of the Marquis of Dos Aguas, the best example of rococo style in Spain, now National Museum of Ceramics.
We´ll end up our tour at Market Square where we´ll admire the iconic Silk Exchange Market (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the baroque church of Saint John and the Central Market, a wonder for the senses.
